Collection relating to Roy Bean, which includes a clipping from the San Francisco Examiner entitled "Famous frontier saloon to be saved as a monument" from April 12, 1936; William Wallace Campbell's recounting of the "Law west of the Pecos" about Roy Bean and a case of murder, dated 1936; a typescript transcription of a letter Campbell and his wife reportedly recieved from Bean confirming the story; and a manuscript copy of that letter, which is unsigned, dated 1894. Correspondence from President Sproul regarding donation stored in Robbins files.
