Summary
December 20, 1865 Memorial of the James River and Kanawha Company requesting that the General Assembly revive the act which incorporated the Virginia Canal Company. The company indicated that it was unable to complete a route to the ocean because of the war made completion impossible; thus they asked for revival of the act and an additional ten years. Numerous supporting documents were also included, especially correspondence between the James River and Kanawha Company and Bellot des Minières, Brothers and Company.
