Summary
July 30, 1787 Address, in the form of a series of letters, entitled "The independent Citizen, or, the Majesty of the people asserted against the Usurpations of the Legislature of North Carolina, in several acts of Assembly, passed in the years 1783, 1785, 1786, and 1787," and printed in Newbern in 1787. The document was addressed to W.R. Davie, a member of the Federal Convention and sometimes attributed to Archibald MacLaine.
