Memorial of the James River and Kanawha Company, seeking additional funds for the construction of several planned improvements, as well as additional appropriations for interest payment on a debt. Included was a statement indicating the amount of additional income which would be generated following the completion of these improvements. While the petition was undated, it was presented to the Virginia House of Delegates on Tuesday, January 16, 1844.
