The APBIO file includes biographical and campaign information on candidates and current office-holders. Elections for president, vice president, the Senate, the House of Representatives and governor are included. Biographical information on an incumbent candidate is included even if the office-holder declines to seek reelection or if his or her term of office is incomplete. Also included are candidates for major offices who have announced candidacy or that the AP believes could declare their candidacy. Minor candidates may be excluded.
