Summary
February 14, 1754 speech of Lieutenant Governor Robert Dinwiddie to the General Assembly regarding seizing of the Ohio river and trade by the French, as well as other hostile actions. The General Assembly responded, concurring in the governor's indignation and supporting his actions. The governor answered with thanks. Of note, Major Washington's report was the basis of the information, following his trip to the Ohio River and the Commandant of the French forces.
