Summary
Committee report on the petition which requested that petitioners be placed in the the third precinct of Roxbury from the first. Although the two sides were ordered to compromise, after they failed to do so and the committee again reviewed the matter. The petitioner freeholders published a copy of the reasons for their request, as well as answers to objects made by the opposition.
Note
At end of address: Signed by all the Petitioners. The petitioners addressed the General Court on January 12, 1773, offering reasons of tax inequalities and proximity to the new meeting house in the third precinct to support their petition to be set apart from the first precinct.
