Summary
March 21, 1778 broadside issued by Governor Jonathan Trumbull of Connecticut, proclaiming April 22nd as a day of fasting and prayer because while there were successes in the northern states, the south had suffered militarily. The proclamation followed a resolution by the United States Congress to recommend this day.
