Summary
Since its inception in 2008 under the leadership of Miguel Ángel Fernández-Ballesteros and David Arias, Spain Arbitration Review underwent a transformation in 2023, renaming itself Iurgium to reflect the Spanish Arbitration Club's evolution into the Spanish and Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club (CEIA). Serving as a dynamic forum for the exchange of information and knowledge, the journal has played an integral role in fostering connectivity among practitioners in arbitration within Spain and the broader Ibero-American community. Symbolising CEIA's reinforced commitment to promoting a vibrant and inclusive dialogue within the arbitration community, Iurgium, derived from Latin meaning legal dispute, embodies the essence of the journal's mission. Each edition of the journal offers contributions in English, Spanish and Portuguese, by specialists, case-law analyses, and book reviews. The journal also puts a clear emphasis on contributions by younger generations of practitioners and members of its international chapters, recognising their invaluable insights and perspectives. Iurgium also periodically publishes outlooks of case-law from different countries and regions, providing readers with enriching insights into legal developments across different jurisdictions. Iurgium actively engages with the challenges and opportunities presented by globalisation and transnational arbitration, reflecting the evolving landscape of dispute resolution in an interconnected world. Moreover, it keeps a close eye on developments in mediation and ADR, recognising their increasing importance in dispute resolution.
