"The increasing importance of inheritance cases with a foreign element saw the European Succession Regulation introduce a new approach to the »acceptance« of authentic instruments. Christine Schmitz shows that this does not concern the recognition of the authentic instrument's content, but rather the procedural conflict-of-law rule and the extension of the instrument's evidentiary effects.
