Summary
1836 Petition from various women of the town of Brunswick to the legislature, to prohibit the sale of alcoholic liquors. As support for this position, the women noted that intemperate husbands caused families to be poverty-stricken and in a worse position than if the women had been widows. The petition was signed by over 100 women.
