An account of the trial of Hugh Wiliam A. Newell for the murder, Sept. 29, 1940, of his wife, Aune Marie P. Newell, heard three times before the Crown. Third contest, Oct. 6 to Nov. 22, 1941, ended in the conviction and sentence, Feb. 12, 1942, of the defendant. The case was appealed to the Supreme Court of Ontario and argued from Jan. 19 through Jan. 22, 1942. The verdict of the lower court was upheld and the case dismissed.
