Correspondence from the United States Superintendent of Weights and Measures, who agreed to issue a standard set of weights and measures to North Carolina to replace those lost in the Civil War. The document consists of copies of three letters addressed to North Carolina Governor Jonathan Worth: From H. McCulloch, Secretary of the Treasury, dated March 29th, 1866; from J.E. Hilgard, For the Superintendent, Office of U.S. Weights & Measures, dated March 30th, 1866; and from A.D. Bacher, Superintendent of Weights and Measures, which is not dated.
