Historical Data
Jacobus Voorda was born in 1698, the son of a notary and attorney at Harlingen. He studied at Franeker and in 1718 was awarded a Doctorate Utriusque Juris. He practised law at Leeuwarden and then taught at the University of Franeker beginning in 1723; in 1730 he went to Utrecht where he lectured on civil and modern law until 1758.
