Request from the Lake Superior Railroad Company to the Michigan Legislature to transfer swamp lands to the company for the construction of a railroad. The lands requested are "from Ontonagon to the State line; from Marquette to the State line; and from Pere Marquette to Flint." (Page 10). The report is addressed to the Legislature of the State of Michigan and is signed by the secretary of the Lake Superior Railroad Company, Morgan L. Drake. The report includes the text of the Michigan Legislature entitled "Joint Resolution, relative to a grant of lands to aid in constructing a Railroad to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan," and an act of Congress approved June 3, 1856 entitled "An act, making a grant of lands to the State of Michigan, in alternate sections, to aid in the construction of railroads in said State."
