Summary
Report of the trustees for the asylums for the deaf and dumb and blind, and for the insane, about funds received for the asylums. Money was received from inhabitants of Genessee County for the location of the asylum for the deaf and dumb and blind in Flint. Funds were also received from citizens in Kalamazoo County and a proposal from Macomb County citizens; citizens from both were interested in an asylum in their area. Land for the asylums was donated or proposed, too. The reports includes two lists showing the donation of funds: Schedule of notes given for the Deaf, Dumb and Blind Asylum at Flint, Genessee County, Michigan; and Schedule of notes given for the Asylum for the Insane, at Kalmazoo in the County of Kalamazoo, Michigan. The report is signed by Elon Farnsworth, President of the Board of Trustees, Detroit, February 11th, 1850.
