Summary
A report of the minority of the Michigan Senate Judiciary Committee about a memorial of the Detroit and Maumee Rail℗Ư Road company asking for an amendment to the company charter. While the majority are in support of the request, the minority report recommends that the request be denied. The report includes a discussion of legal issues and the minority opinion is that the change "would not only be unconstitutional, and contrary to the spirit of our existing laws, but that it would greatly endanger the best interests of the State, to pass any act, which might, in any manner, either direct or indirect or implied, restore to life, corporations, which, by the terms of their enactment, have ceased to exist..." (Page 5). The report is signed by A.M. Arzeno, Minority of the Judiciary Committee.
