Summary
Report of a select committee of the Michigan House on a claim by Jonathan Kearsley. Kearsley was appointed by the University of Michigan Board of Regents to negotiate a loan for the University of Michigan and is seeking compensation for that work. The report notes, "The minority of your committee can come to no other conclusion than this, that the best interests of the University--the best interests of the people of this State, demand that this claim should be arranged and settled in some way, and therefore recommend that your memorialist be allowed and tendered five hundred dollars..." (Page 3). The report is signed by P. Hayden.
