Summary
Report of the Michigan Senate Judiciary, "to whom was referred the petition of W.Z. Blanchard and five others, citizens of Ionia county, asking the Legislature to alter or so amend the present collection law, in adapting it to the new Constitution, that the debtor shall not possess the entire advantage over his creditor as at present; and also asking that the people may be relieved from the present worse than useless tax imposed on them for the support of town libraries." (Page 1). The report notes that the statement of the petitioners is untrue and concludes with recommendations that the petitioners make use of the town library, so as to become "wiser and better men," and that they withdraw their petition. The report is signed by A. Gould, Chairman.
