Summary
Report of a select committee of the Michigan House on a claim by Jonathan Kearsley. Kearsley was appointed by the University of Michigan Board of Regents to negotiate a loan for the University of Michigan and sought compensation for that work. The report concludes, "the claim of Major Kearsley, above mentioned, is one that should not be entertained by either the Regents or the people, being against the uniform practice of the Board of Regents, and out of all proportion to the services rendered by the claimant." (Page 6). The report is signed by Julius Movius, Chairman, and John D. Irvine.
