The report is addressed to the Commissioners of the Saut Ste Marie Canal, and is signed by John T. Clark, Chief Engineer. It is dated January 18, 1855. The report includes a list of items not yet completed as of November 1854, extra work that was claimed by contractors, and discussion of materials. Clark notes the "watchful care exercised over every part of the work by Col. James L. Glen, the Assistant Engineer."
