Summary
June 18, 1850 petition of John Hearsey, inhabitant of Canton, noting issues that arise when snow roads are not cleared. Hearsey requests a bill that would make "individual proprietors liable for all reasonable damages sustained by travelers in their persons or property, by reason of the incumbrance of snow where the road shall be found fenced narrower than the legally prescribed width." (Page 1-2). The petition is signed "John Hearsey, of Canton."
