Order of the Massachusetts House, and report of the House committee referred to in the order, which is dated Feb. 22, 1842. The report indicates that the committee members "have conferred with a committee of the directors of the Western Rail-road, who declined giving any positive assurances in relation to the return of state scrip, but stated in general terms that they intended as far as in them lay, to return all the scrip not required for the construction of the road." (Page 2).
