"A.H. Gerrish, William Gerrish, jr., George S. Hammond, and their associates, are hereby constituted a corporation by the name of the Bethel Boom Company, with the powers and duties of similar corporations. ... The company is authorized to maintain a boom extending from a pier in the north part of the stream which divides between the islands upward diagonally across the north branch of the Androscoggin river; also, a boom from their own land, at some point within ten rods of their south line, across to Bond's island."--Page 1-2.
