A. Schedule of lands belonging to the State of Maine, of townships and parts of townships remaining unsold, arranged by counties, with the number of acres in each
B. Schedule of securities in the Land Office. Notes ; Schedule of securities belonging to the permanent school fund derived from townships selected in pursuance of the resolve approved March 11, 1834 ; Schedule of bonds received to secure stumpage of timber permitted upon the public lands
C. Statement of cash paid into the Land Office during the year 1856, showing by whom and on what account paid ; For timber and grass from lands reserved for public uses in townships, as shown by the annual report of the Land Agent for 1856
D. No indebtedness exists against the Land Department, excepting the usual contingent expenses, for protecting the public lands, &c., and that part of the order making inquiry as to "the liabilities and debts of the Department," is supposed to have reference particularly to the liability of the State for the purchase of lands from Massachusetts, in the year 1853. The sums now due the Commonwealth for that object, together with interest annually, from October 10, 1853, are as follows ...
House of Representatives, February 23, 1867. On motion of Mr. Morrison, of Farmington, Ordered, That the Land Agent be requested to furnish to this House a statement, in detail, of all sums of money paid into that department during the past year; by whom, and what for / Geo. W. Wilcox, Clerk.
