Conventions in Maryland focusing on a variety of topics including the following noted for each convention. June 1774 focused on "the act of parliament for blocking up the port and harbour of Boston, the bill depending in parliament subversive of the charter of the Massachusetts-Bay and that enabling the governor to send supposed offenders from thence to another colony, or England, for trial, were read, and after mature deliberation thereon ..." (Page [3]). In December 1774 increasing flocks of sheep to support wool manufacture was discussed. Also discussed were manufacturing of linen and cotton, merchants and traders, a regulated militia, Continental Congress, and American grievances with British administration. April 1775 covered troops in New York, exports to Canada, the state of British colonies, and the massacre of people in Lexington by king's troops and subsequent actions. July 1775 covered British administration and the raising of revenue without the consent of the colonies, battalions in Frederick and Baltimore and Harford counties and other military matters, bills of credit, and activities of the Council of Safety.
