Note
"Voted, that it is the opinion of this Committee [i.e. the Massachusetts Committee of Safety], that the recantations of these persons be accepted, and that they be made acquainted with the proclamation lately issued by the Provincial Congress, respecting those who may incline to go into Boston ..." (first page). The seven were among the thirty-three Marblehead, Mass., residents who signed an address to Gov. Thomas Hutchinson which appeared in the May 31, 1774, issue of the Essex gazette.
