Note
Order for the formation of a committee "to prepare from the best authentic evidence which can be procured, a true state of the number of inhabitants ; and of the quantities of exports and imports of goods, wares and merchandize ; and of the manufactures of all kinds, within the colony; to be used by our delegates, at the American Congress to be held at Philadelphia on or before the 10th of May next. ..." This is followed by a related order of the Congress dated Dec. 8, signed by Jos. Palmer, chairman, and the draft of a letter to be sent to the selectmen of the towns.
