December 8, 1837 communication from Joseph Vance (Governor of Ohio) to the Senate and House of Representatives that provides a list of officers whose commission will expire in the upcoming months and a list of officers appointed by the governor to fill vacancies. Most of those listed are judges. Other positions are the treasurer of the state, the director of the penitentiary, advisory commissioners of the Board of Public Works, and a superintendent of common schools. Included is a communication from Carter B. Harlan, Secretary of State, with a correction.
