Letter of transmittal from B. Franklin, President of the Convention, indicates that the enclosed dispatch should be forwarded to colonels or commanding officers of battalions in respective counties. The enclosed dispatch, from the convention and dated July 19, 1776, indicates that battalions should be sent to New Jersey in accordance with a request of the Congress of the United States.
