Summary
General Court or Assembly for his Majesty's Province of Massachusetts Bay ... begun and held at Boston, Wednesday 30th day of May 1754, continued ... into Wednesday 5th February 1755. One of the Committees to respond to the Governor's message sent its report: The fort at Crown Point is necessary plus an army of 5,000 men to staff it. The Governor to select a commanding officer to create the fort, with a list of each New England Province's quota of men for the army. [The wrapper covered some text at the bottom of the page, so it was re-filmed here] The Governor wished his own regiment or that of Sir William Peppervill? to be part of the force. The Committee listed the pay and equipment for the soldiers and directed the Governor to ask Connecticut and New Jersey for more soldiers. Pennsylvania should be asked to contribute and deliver provisions. Both Houses approved the resolution on February 10, 1755.
