Summary
October 20, 1755. Seventeen men petitioned for arms to defend their settlement along John Penn's Creek [short way west of the Susquehanna River and just south of Lewisburg] On October 16, 1755, the settlers were attacked by Indians, who killed several, kidnapped several, and burned many houses. Only one man escaped. The men were willing to defend the land, but needed weapons.
