Beginning January 1, 2023, Wisconsin's version of the revised Uniform Limited Liability Company Act became effective for all new LLCs - as well as all existing LLCs that did not affirmatively elect to opt-out of its application. Wisconsin became the 24th of 26 States to adopt a version of the Uniform Law Commission's Uniform Limited Liability Company Act. However, like all State-level enactments of uniform laws, certain pre-existing Wisconsin-specific policies and practices were retained.
