Summary
A collection of documents and copies of letters on marriage, mostly by Paolo Bombino. It includes with a short discourse on matrimonial dispensations by Franciscus Ciaprinus, a brief resolution as to whether the pope can dispense a first-degree impediment of affinity; and a series of responses, including objections to them, on such dispensations, including a proposed dispensation to allow Carlos I Gonzaga, the duke of Mantua, to marry his widowed daughter-in-law, Maria Gonzaga, the duchess of Montferrat. It includes documents addressed to the bishop of Mantua and Luigi Contarini Cavalieri, and objections to Bambino by one of the Barberini. A few of these documents relate to the Duchy of Mantua. Manuscript bears contemporary numeration and foliation suggesting it once was part of a larger manuscript, with section numbers 3, 4, 5 and 6 appear on fols. 1r, 15r, 25v and 47v respectively.
