A sketch of the life and adventures of Henry Leander Foote, sentenced to be hung in New Heaven, June 19, 1850, (reprieved by the Legislature till October 2, 1850,) for the murder of Miss Emily H. Cooper : containing an account of his early history and habits, with an appeal to youngmen on the danger of exposure to evil company : together with his adventures as a U.S. Dragoon during the Florida war, and a description of the horrid massacre of two families, and some battles, never before published, also, a description of parts of South America, which he visited / written by himself : with an appendix, containing his confession of the rape and murder of Miss Cooper, and his address delivered on the gallows.
