Subtitle: "Charged on oath, with a strong suspicion of having on Tuesday, the 19th of January, last past, between the hours of eight and nine in the afternoon of the same day, on the King's highway in the parish of Thorton-in-the-Moors, in the county of Chester, feloniously assaulted Peter Yoxall, who was carrying on horseback, His Majesty's mail, from Warrington in the county of Lancaster to the city of Chester, and taking from his person, the said mail bag with the letters and other articles contained therein."
