Summary
A chronological list cathedrals and metropolitans in Germany, Spain, England, Switzerland, and elsewhere together with a record of the source of their commendation (e.g. the king of Portugal, the emperor, the queen of England), beginning from the pontificate of Boniface IX (ca. 1389) up to the fifth year of the pontificate of Gregory XIII (1577), apparently compiled by the Registrar of Supplications and chaplain of the Register of the Bulls under Gregory XIV.

Collation: Paper (watermarks: Coat of arms-keys, not in Briquet, and Hillocks, similar but not identical to Heawood 2614), fol. 42; 1⁴ (-1, first folio is pastedown) 2-5⁸ 6⁸ (-8, last folio is pastedown); quires 2-6 signed 1-5; leaves 3-42 foliated 1-39 by a modern hand in pencil.
Layout: Written in long lines of 14; vertical ruling in ink to guide listed entries by city.
Script: Written in a semi-italic and an ornamental textualis by one hand.
Decoration: Episcopal coat of arms, with galero in red, showing a pelican and fleur de lys with crown over the words "Ut suos allat seipsum necat", on fol. [3]v; elaborately flourished initials on [3]r, [3]v, and 1r.
Origin: The colophon on 35v reads "Romae accepi dono Nicolai Raimbaldi, Registratoris supplicationum et capellari Regesti bullorum die XX martii MDXCI."

Formerly in the collections of Alessandro Albani, as evidenced by a strip of paper tipped in between the first flyleaf and pastedown (now in MS file) that reads "Bibliotheca Albano" and on the recto of the second flyleaf is a note in pen that reads "No. B11 B" and "Biblioteca Albano"; Callisto Marini of Pesaro, whose bookplate is pasted to [1]r "Ex Bibl. Callisti Marini Pisauren"; of Earl of Guilford; and of Sir Thomas Phillipps (his no. 5367). Written in modern pencil on front pastedown are the numbers "196/7" and "5367 Ph" and on the recto of the first flyleaf, in English, "Seen N[----] Important."
Binding Information
Bound in contemporary soft vellum; remains of two cloth ties visible. Title on front cover, written in the same hand as the text with the same decorative elements, reads "Compendiolum in cathedralibus."
