"Gentleman of the law" intended to be interpreted as John Maclaurin, Lord Dreghorn. In fact by Andrew Moir, minister of Selkirk Burgher Congregation. Sometimes also wrongly attributed to Alexander Pirie.
A reply to Adam Gib's A refuge of lies sweeped away; and to Reasons of protest, by three elders in the Associate Congregation of Edinburgh. The three elders, indicated in the title of the present work by abbreviations, are Thomas Kinnear, Andrew Beatson, and Robert Morton.
'Price nine pence' on t.p.; variant has 'Price seven pence.'
Signatures: a⁴ A-N⁴ O² (O2 blank).
