Summary
Mahoney discusses his family background and childhood in Arizona, and his education at Notre Dame, both as a undergraduate athlete and later as a law student. He describes his service in World War II developing an athletic program for the Navy, and his tenure as prosecutor of Japanese war crimes after the war. He speaks at length of his years as County Attorney (the county is not named, but it is perhaps Maricopa), his efforts to end segregation in schools and public accommodations, his role as a leader in Arizona of J.F.K's presidential campaign, and his subsequent appointment as Ambassador to Ghana. The transcript has many typos, mistranscriptions and gaps.
