Summary
Pamphlet written in 1677 which was entitled "Strange News from Virginia; being a full and true account of the life and death of Nathanael Bacon Esquire." This short article described Bacon as the cause of the troubles in the colony, which was a reference to this first rebellion in the American colonies in which frontiersmen, led by Bacon, rebelled against Governor William Berkeley and his failure to protect the western frontier. Of note, the text claimed Bacon died from "inbibing(sic)," although historians indicated that he died of dysentery.
