January 7, 1779 broadside issued by the Connecticut General Assembly, resolving to allow solicitation of donations for the benefit of Rhode Island, following various attacks by the British army.

A resolution by the Connecticut General Assembly that Jonathan Otis and Oliver Ring Warner, "late of Newport on Rhode Island, both now of Middletown, in this State," are given liberty "to solicit the donations of the charitable and well-disposed inhabitants of this state, for the relief of the unhappy sufferers" of Rhode Island who, "having sufferend every evil and insult from the wanton cruelty of our common enemy, are reduced to the most distressing necessity for the common supports of life."
Following main text: "A true copy of record, examined, by George Wyllys, Secr'y."
