Copy of a letter, written word for word, issued by Charles VIII of France, regarding land in the Langue d'oïl and rents given at Amboise on 17 October 1483. The copy was issued by the guardian of the royal seal at Tours. Two signatures, a statement, and two slits at the foot of the document. 41 x 1 cm strip of parchment stitched to top edge of document. Some staining and wear, especially along right margin, and ink splatters between lines 1-2, 4-8, 14-20 with some obscuring of text. Note in pencil by modern hand on left margin. Two signatures and another ink splatter on the verso.
