Summary
January 28, 1861 communication transmitted to the Virginia General Assembly by Virginia Governor John Letcher. The communication contained a response and agreement from the governor of Maryland to send commissioners to Washington to consider "some suitable adjustment" with other states. In addition, the Georgia Convention sent an ordinance of secession.
